On 2 may 2000, the Danish government submitted a bill for an Act to Denmark’s proposed participation in the Euro currency. Denmark's National Bank prepared sketches for the coin designs, which were published by the Danish government in a booklet in September 2000. The designs were published in Denmark's newspapers - including the (pro Euro) Berlingske Tisende. The reverse designs are those to represent commerce, peace and justice which were proposed to the European Commission as a replacement for Luc Luycx'a maps of Europe. The 5 Euro, 50, 20, and 10 cent displays a picture of an uncrowned monarchic representation. A new Scandinavian longboat adorns the pattern 1 Euro and 2 Euro reverses. The set is supplied within an attractive keep safe box. The coins are supplied with a certificate of authenticity and an interesting explanation about the Danish euros in both Danish and English. This set is 1 of only 20,000 issued.
